Bold And The Beautiful (B&B) fans rejoice! Dr. Taylor Hayes is returning to Los Angeles on December 10.
Entertainment Weekly broke the news that actress Krista Allen has been cast in the role of Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) mom. She’ll be replacing Hunter Tylo, who originated the character in 1990.
Allen is a veteran actress who’s no stranger to soaps, or recasts for that matter. She played Billie Reed (originated by Lisa Rinna) from 1996 to 1999 on Days Of Our Lives. Since then she’s been on shows like Baywatch, CSI, Two And A Half Men and 9-11.

Fans of the Forrester kids were excited by the news. “Brooke’s going to be so intimated by Taylor’s presence. Ridge, Taylor, Steffy, Thomas, Douglas, Kelly and Hayes what a growing family!” one fan posted on Twitter.

“Yay awesome news !! can’t wait for her to have scenes with Sheila Carter!!” another viewer commented. A lot fans were hoping Tylo would return but are satisfied nonetheless. “I’ll take the recast because her character is needed,” a viewer said.
Taylor’s absence has been felt by many fans and characters during the past couple of years. Tylo’s last appearance as the psychiatrist on the B&B was back in 2019.
Bold And The Beautiful News – Taylor Hayes Was Noticeably Absent
Viewers felt the doctor should have been around when her daughter Steffy got into a motorcycle accident and then went through a pill addiction. Not to mention when her son Thomas had brain surgery. Taylor was also noticeably absent after the birth of her grandson son Hayes (who was named after her), not to mention Steffy’s wedding to Dr. John Finnegan (Tanner Novlan). The explanation was that she was off doing missionary work.
It’s been reported that Allen will be taping episodes with MacInnes Wood and Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester) at CBS studios later this week. But could Taylor’s return signal the end of Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge?
